Rain Man

Lets talk about this movie.
Rain Man is a 1988 dramatic film written by Barry Morrow and Ronald Bass and directed by Barry Levinson. It tells the story of an abrasive, selfish yuppie, Charlie Babbitt, who discovers that his father has left all of his multimillion-dollar estate to his brother, Raymond, of whose existence he knew nothing and who is an autistic savant.

You can see in this movie tha a person can`t judge another just for the way he or she looks, you can learn a lot from other people if you give the chance to yourself of trying. In the film we see how Charlie learns to know his brother along the journey through the USA. Many people with few sense of humanity won`t see more than they can see with their eyes. We must be openminded if we really wish to learn about this life and from other people. Many people with diseases like autism can teach us a lot of things, lets keep that in mind.

I didin't see this movie in class, but I saw it 2 years ago with my mom.
I think this movie is very touching speciallty for people who has someone in his life with that kind of disease.
We must learn good things for anyone, regardless of any illness or disability.
The importance of love between brothers is also involved.
The possibility of knowing someone without wishing it and to love him in spite of all, is a lesson that we all will learn sooner or later.

At the beginning of the movie we can see that Charlie is interested in Raymond only because of the money. then in the journey that they have, Charlie started to understand the way that Raymond was, and he started to pay more attention on him. The interesting thing that we can see is that Raymond is a genius in numbers but he loose that ability when the numbers have a relation with money. I thing he loose that ability because he had a bad experience with it.
I did´t watch the end of the movie but I tried to guess the end and I imagined that Charlie stayed with Raymond without the money, even though Charlie was happy because he loved his brother.

At the beginning I was a little sceptical about the movie, in the middle I was desesperated because of all Raymond’s actions but then I found very interesting the way the movie presents you the autism and all the problems that have all the autistic people like discrimination.

Although the persons that have different skills or that have some brain disorders are different from us that doesn’t means they are less, in fact I believe that all people have something that makes you special, like in the movie, Raymond was able to calculate complicated mathematical problems in his head with great speed an accuracy so I think everybody should spend some time with all kind of people so we can learn about them.

I liked the movie, so as Jaime I didn’t see the end of the movie but i guess that Charlie stayed with Raymond custody because he realized that he really love him.
Raymon is his brother and his parents separate them when they were kids so Charlie didn’t had the chance to be with him while they were kids, they lost precious moments together, and at the begging of the movie Charlie only wanted Raymond because of the heredity of his father, and also I think he despise Raymond because of his disease and because he really didn’t understand the autism issue, Charlie saw it as a problem,
But while the movie it’s running out we can see that Charlie started to be attracted by the special things that Raymond can did, like counting toothpicks only with him eyes, Raymon has a special ability with numbers, so Charlie discovered that Raymond wasn’t an autism problematic guy, and he star to recognized the capacity of his brother and started to see him as a human.
I think we can learn a lot with this movie, we don’t have to create fake judgments of the people only with the first appearance, we have to give them the chance to know them before to create some idea of him, because otherwise we can quit them credit of something.

I enjoyed the movie because it teach us that we can learn a lot from other people and it doesn´t matter that this people have some discapacity.

Also we have to value that we don´t have these diseases, in this case autism, we can take advantage of all our body, do anything we want and take care us.

But, we don´t have to despreciate this people, help them to enjoy more the life, we can learn and teach them many things, we have to be tolerants, respect them and don´t think that they are fool people.

The movie was in my opinion, great because I liked the way that Raymond annoyed Charlie's life¡

To me was fun, because Charlie deserved it¡¡,he was just after the money¡¡¡¡ and thats was fair in order to get the money he needed to take care of Raymond¡¡and deal with him, so of curse, as the time flow Charlie develops feelings about his brother, for thath he stops treating Raymond as an idiot¡¡, and realize that he just had a mental condition (autism)..
Then when they went to Las vegas, Charlie took advantage of Raymond skills and that way they made a fortune in one single day¡ so Charlie was able to pay his debts¡, at this point he wasn't interested on the money, so I imagine ('cause I didn't see the end) that Charlie fought for the cutody of Raymond..
